Tim O'Connor Returns to Elmira

by Jake Johnson

Elmira N.Y.- Having a shortened rookie season, Tim O’Connor will be back in Elmira looking for a fully healthy 2nd year pro. O’Connor played in just over half the season before going down with an upper body injury, in 29 games played he tallied 1 goal and 2 assists. His lone goal was an empty netter from past the center logo to seal the victory against the Delaware Thunder on January 8th. Prior to Elmira, the 6’4” defenseman played at Buffalo State. O'Connor also wore the "A" for Elmira last season.

Assistant Coach M.J. Maerkl on the impact of Tim O’Connor “Tim is a big strong defensive force that we missed having out on the ice during the back half of the year. O’Connor has a strong shot and is also a true stay at home defenseman that is hard to find in this league, we are excited to get a healthy OC back in the lineup for us.”

O’Connor was a young leader for the team last year and after a long rehab he is excited to return back to the ice and in front of the fans. That marks another former Mammoth returning to the Twin Tiers for the 2023-2024 season. Keep checking back for player announcements each day.
