by Jake Johnson

A familiar face to the FPHL is in Elmira for the upcoming season. Jason Stone is a defenseman who last played for the Carolina Thunderbirds. The 6’1” lefty defenseman is from St. Johns, Newfoundland and has played 20 games in the FPHL. He has 2 career goals and 1 assist as well as over 20 PIMS.

Coach Gjurich on the signing “We keep adding toughness to our lineup, Stone brings some experience to our lineup as well as someone who will make the big hits in our defensive zone, he will protect our goalies and our forwards. We are excited to bring him into our locker room this season.”

The River Sharks are excited to continue to bolster their lineup as the days count down towards opening night. Keep checking the team website for player announcements throughout the offseason.
