Former Jackal, Martin Moucha Signs with River Sharks
Elmira N.Y.- The Elmira River Sharks have made another big splash signing; they have signed former ECHL Elmira Jackal Martin Moucha. Moucha played 11 games for the Jackals, playing 5 games in 2010-2011, he had 2 goals and 1 assist. Then in 2011-2012 he played 6 games and tallying an assist. The 6’0” center also played 3 games for the Wheeling Nailers in the 2011 season.
Moucha also has played in the FPHL, previously when it was the FHL, the Czech born 39-year-old played for the Danbury Whalers. In 49 games Moucha tallied 15 goals and 41 assists. He also played for the Williamsport Outlaws in 2012-2013, netting 18 goals and 21 assists. Prior to playing pro Moucha played college hockey at Norwich University, the D3 powerhouse located in Vermont saw Moucha play for two seasons.
Since he has stopped playing professionally Moucha has coached multiple clubs, he was the Assistant Coach for two seasons of Wyoming Seminary Prep. He was then the Head Coach of the Wilkes-Barre Miners in the NSHL. In 2016-2017 Moucha coached the WB/Scranton Knights 16U AAA. He was also the Assistant Coach of the Wilkes-Barre Knights 14U AAA.
Moucha on coming back to play professionally “It’ll be an awesome experience being back in Elmira and playing against another former team so many times (Danbury).”
